Planning Permission Granted for Rebuild

A new era is officially on the way for Perryfields Academy after planning permission was granted for our new school building.

Sandwell Council’s planning committee voted unanimously in our favour last night, with developers BAM already on site ready to move forward, with hopes the framework for the new look Perrys could be in place as early as next year.

BPT Chief Executive Claire Pritchard says it’s been a long journey to get to this point, but everyone is focused on delivering for the community we serve:

“We are absolutely delighted to have officially received planning permission for our new school building – a milestone that has been a long time coming since our initial success in 2022. Working alongside BAM and ADP architects, we have designed a state-of-the-art environment that maximises our site to offer a fantastic blend of academic, sporting, and creative opportunities. We are incredibly excited to finally bring this vision to life and give the Perryfields students, staff, and wider community the world-class facilities they truly deserve.”

It’s been four years since Broadleaf’s submission for a new build was successful with the Department for Education, with the news that work can finally get going Headteacher Mr Morris says a new era is on the way:

“As Headteacher of this fantastic school, I am so excited that we will finally be able to provide the exceptional buildings and facilities that this community deserves.  We already have incredible students, staff and families and now we will have the school site to match.

The collaborative vision and design, created with BAM and ADP Architects, will enable our students to shine and excel in all areas of school life.  The next chapter of the Perryfields Academy starts now and it will be full of ambition, opportunity and success.”
