BPT appoint first ever Project Lead

Broadleaf Partnership Trust has appointed Scott Murphy as it’s first ever ‘Project Lead’ to help oversee some exciting developments and estates projects.

Joining from FMI Group Services, a commercial facilities management company, Murphy will primarily be tasked with helping to deliver the planned rebuild of Perryfields Academy, but also has ambitions to use his skills and experience from the commercial sector to benefit the trust in other areas:

“I’ve worked in the retail sector, operations, graphic design, compliance; there’s a lot I can help with and I really think we can engage with the commercial sector more, to help provide some of the elements from those areas that have been missing within an education environment. I’m really excited to have some input and change things for the better”

Having worked for clients such as Cadbury’s, Phillips, pharmaceutical company GSK in the past, Murphy is used to high profile and fast moving projects, though he does have experience of the educational sector and says he’s looking forward to helping Broadleaf develop quickly:

“There’s a lot of exciting projects coming up and with my experience as an ops manager in a facilities company directing workload, sorting issues and constant change, I’m used to getting things done and what’s important here is that we all work together within the partnership to collaborate. I’m really excited to be part of a growing team where everyone gets involved and everyone’s opinion matters. It’s not often you get something like a complete rebuild of a school, or just a Trust that’s growing and it’s really lit something within me. It’s new, it’s fresh and I’m very very excited.”

BPT Chief Executive Claire Pritchard says she’s excited to see what the new Project Lead can offer:

“It’s always exciting when you meet someone who lights a spark in you! Scott brings with him an impressive background in a variety of skills that will serve our Trust well. Most importantly, Scott is an innovator – who will be able to inject creativity and different perspectives to the projects he will be leading and facilitating. I look forward to seeing how his contributions help shape our future.”
