BPT enters discussions to add 6th partner

Broadleaf Partnership Trust can confirm we have entered into early discussions into the possibility of adding New Oscott Primary School as our 6th member.

A formal consultation period is now underway, running until Wednesday 9th April, for the local community, including staff and parents at the Sutton Coldfield school to have their say on the potential move.

It comes as long serving Headteacher at New Oscott, Mrs Alison Walklett, has announced she plans to retire at the end of the year, with the exploration of academisation part of her legacy to the school.

Broadleaf CEO, Claire Pritchard, has paid tribute to Mrs Walklett:

“We join with all educators across Sutton and the wider area in sending our very best wishes to Alison, and congratulate her on an incredible 25 years on the Senior Leadership Team at New Oscott. In the early discussions we have had about adding the school to the Trust, it has been clear just how valued she is at New Oscott, and how much she deeply cares for the community she serves. Following extensive consideration, we are proud that governors have chosen Broadleaf as their preferred option for continuing her work.

There is still a lot of discussions to be had, and of course both parties need to fully consult with all stakeholders before the formal process will advance, but we look forward to exploring this possible opportunity further over the next few months.”
