For the first time, staff from all six schools within Broadleaf Partnership Trust came together for a combined Teacher Training Day on Wednesday 12th November, marking a big step forward in collaboration across primary and secondary phases.
Plantsbrook School hosted more than three hundred staff including teachers, teaching assistants, support and admin staff and members of the central team for a day of sessions focused on Inclusion, Literacy and Digital Equity, whilst strengthening the ties between schools at all levels, with CEO Claire Pritchard telling those in attendance how the Trust are responding to the challenges and expectations facing those in education:
“Our goal as a trust is to be brilliant, not just compliant. Our commitment to high-quality inclusive provision, rigorous literacy strategies, and smart digital integration makes us more than ready for any national challenge—it makes us leaders in defining the solution.
But to achieve all this, we must protect our most valuable asset: you. The well being of our staff matters massively. Our aim is to carefully balance the demands that changes in the national agenda create, with the space that we are making through our innovation.
You are the educators redefining excellence. You are building the resilient future of this trust; as well as that of our students. I am incredibly proud of your commitment and your passion.”

In a Trust first, the majority of the training was designed and delivered by staff from the schools themselves, with a range of focused sessions timetabled throughout the day,, including opportunities for staff to network and share best practice.
Claire Pritchard told staff their work is vital to preparing for the next steps in delivering for the learners and communities we serve:
“Today has been about deepening the roots of our inclusive practice. We didn’t wait for government white papers or policy shifts to tell us what truly matters. Our trust chose to prioritise SEND, Literacy, and Digital Equity because they are the foundations to our child-centred approach across Broadleaf. And because of that proactive choice, we’re now in a strong position to meet the next set of national educational ambitions head on.”
