Gender Pay Gap narrows by 6% in a year

Broadleaf Partnership Trust has announced a significant closing of the hourly rate paid to employees in it’s latest Gender Pay Gap report.

Figures for 2024 show amongst the 348 employees of the Trust, the overall gap fell by 6%, vastly improving on the national average drop of just 1.1%.

According to the National Education Union, the average mean gender pay gap in the Education sector in the UK is 18.8%, in comparison Broadleaf’s figure stands at 11.4%, with just a 0.69% gap between male and female teachers.

The report also shows female support staff actually earn on average 5% more than their male counterparts, with the median figures for both teaching and support staff almost identical.

BPT’s Director of People and Culture, Samantha Palmer, says the figures once again show pay is determined irrespective of gender:

“We remain passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion, and are committed to continuing to see gender pay equality across our organisation.

We have identified five areas to focus on for 2025, including a robust leadership training programme to encourage and equip people of all genders to apply and thrive in senior roles and promote our improved Maternity Pay Entitlements, with the aim to continue to attract female candidates to roles at all levels within our organisation.”
